The character of Gyllenhaal is truely a evil character. And Gyllenhaal dominates the screen. His eye bulging look makes him perfect for the role. The script is too good. It is engaging, well paced and strongly written. Although  it has some holes but the suspense and surprizing elements cover it all. The camera worked in dark shade and took out real feeling of underworld of LA. The direction is good and Dan Gilroy handled the script very well. He brought out the best from his cast . Background music is perfect. Overall it is a really good thriller.
